Private transportation in Monterrey

Monterrey International Airport (MTY) sits in Apodaca, about 24 km northeast of downtown. It handled about 15.6 million passengers in 2025, the fourth busiest airport in Mexico, and it is a business airport first: nonstops from Houston, Chicago, Atlanta and New York land beside Viva Aerobus’s main hub, and since 2026 there are direct flights to Madrid and Paris.

Getting out of MTY is where visitors lose time. Concession taxis sell zone fares at kiosks, app pickups are limited to an area away from the terminal doors, and the three terminals are not connected airside. Booking ahead removes all of it: your chauffeur is waiting in arrivals with your name, the price is already fixed and the vehicle is a few steps away.

Viva Aerobus flies from both Terminal A and Terminal C, so we follow your flight number and send your chauffeur to the right door. We track your flight in real time: if you land early, we are already there. Your chauffeur waits up to 60 minutes after landing at no charge, and if your flight is delayed the pickup time moves automatically.

  • Parque Fundidora and Cintermex, 25 to 35 minutes
  • Downtown Monterrey and the Macroplaza, about 30 minutes
  • Escobedo, about 30 minutes
  • San Pedro Garza García, Valle Oriente and Del Valle, 30 to 40 minutes
  • Santa Catarina, 40 to 50 minutes

Private driver and car service for business travel

Monterrey is northern Mexico’s industrial capital, a major nearshoring hub and home to the headquarters of CEMEX, FEMSA, Banorte and Arca Continental. Most visitors are here for work: a plant visit in Apodaca, a supplier audit in Santa Catarina, board meetings in San Pedro or three days on the floor at Cintermex. That is the kind of day a chauffeur on call makes easy.

  • Airport arrivals and departures, timed to your flight
  • Chauffeur by the hour for plant visits and multi-stop days, with the vehicle waiting between meetings
  • Black car service in a Suburban for roadshows and delegations, or the whole team in one Sprinter
  • Trade shows at Cintermex, with daily hotel runs for your team
  • Private aviation arrivals at Aeropuerto del Norte (NTR), on request
  • Rides from your home or office in Monterrey to catch your flight at MTY

The best of Monterrey, with your own driver

Monterrey sits between the mountains of the Sierra Madre and the Cerro de la Silla, and the best of it is spread out: parks, canyons, caves and a Pueblo Mágico, all within an hour of the city. These are the places we recommend to guests who have a free afternoon or a weekend.

Parque Fundidora & Horno3

A former steelworks turned into the city’s big park. Horno3 is a steel museum built inside Blast Furnace No. 3, with a furnace show and rooftop views.

Next to Cintermex · 25–35 min from MTY

Paseo Santa Lucía

A 2.5 km riverwalk that links the Macroplaza with Fundidora. Walk it in the evening or take the boat ride along the canal.

Downtown

Macroplaza & Barrio Antiguo

The civic heart of the city: the Cathedral, the Palacio de Gobierno, Barragán’s orange Faro del Comercio, the Museo de Historia Mexicana and MARCO. Barrio Antiguo’s old streets fill up at night.

Downtown

Mirador del Obispado

The best panorama of Monterrey, under the largest monumental flag in Mexico. Go at sunset, when the Cerro de la Silla turns orange.

Minutes from San Pedro

Chipinque

Sierra Madre forest with trails and views over the whole valley, and black bears in the woods. Tickets are sold online only, so buy them before you go.

Above San Pedro Garza García

La Huasteca

A dramatic limestone canyon for climbing, hiking and photos. Access sometimes closes for weather or bear sightings, so we check before we drive.

Santa Catarina

Grutas de García

A huge show cave inside the mountain, reached by cable car. A classic half day out of the city.

On the way to Saltillo

Santiago & Cola de Caballo

Nuevo León’s first Pueblo Mágico, the 25 m Horsetail waterfall and lakeside dinners at Presa La Boca.

About 50 min south of downtown

Game day & concerts

Rayados at Estadio BBVA, Tigres at Estadio Universitario, shows at Arena Monterrey. The Clásico Regio is the city’s biggest night.

Guadalupe · San Nicolás · Fundidora

El Potrero Chico

World-class limestone sport climbing, with hundreds of routes. The season runs roughly November to February.

About 1 hour, Hidalgo N.L.

Keep the same vehicle and chauffeur by the hour or for the full day, so a morning at Grutas de García and an evening in Barrio Antiguo fit into one booking.

Eat like a regio

Nuevo León’s cooking is a declared state heritage: cabrito al pastor roasted over coals, machacado con huevo for breakfast, tacos on flour tortillas, arrachera, and the Sunday carne asada that is more ritual than meal. Take a box of glorias from Linares home. A short list for visitors:

  • Pangea, San Pedro. Modern Mexican cooking from chef Guillermo González Beristáin, with a Michelin star in the 2026 guide
  • Koli, Cocina de Origen, Del Valle. A tasting menu of northeastern Mexico, also with a Michelin star
  • Tacos Doña Mary La Gritona, downtown. A family taquería with a Michelin Bib Gourmand
  • El Rey del Cabrito, downtown. The classic address for cabrito al pastor

Your chauffeur drops you at the door, waits, and takes you back to your hotel.

Know before you land

Three terminals

Terminal A: Volaris, American, United and part of Viva Aerobus. Terminal B: Aeroméxico and Delta. Terminal C: Viva Aerobus. Viva uses both A and C, so check your boarding pass. The terminals are not connected airside; a free shuttle runs between them from 5 am to midnight.

Taxis and apps at MTY

Airport taxis are concessions that sell zone fares at kiosks in arrivals. App pickups are limited to a designated area away from the terminal doors, and the rules changed several times in 2026. A pre-booked chauffeur avoids both.

Traffic

Weekday peaks run 6 to 9 am and 5 to 9 pm, worst on Constitución, Gonzalitos, Miguel Alemán and Morones Prieto. We plan pickup times around them and track your flight.

Weather

Hot summers in the mid-30s °C, with heat waves above 40 °C. September is the wettest month. Mid-October to early April is the most comfortable season, with the odd cold front in winter.

Time zone

Central time, UTC−6, all year. Mexico dropped daylight saving in 2022, so from March to November Monterrey is one hour behind Texas.

Big event days

Monterrey hosted four FIFA World Cup matches at Estadio Monterrey in June 2026. Pa’l Norte fills Parque Fundidora each spring, the Monterrey Open is played in late August, and Clásico Regio nights jam the roads. Book early on those dates.

Monterrey pricing depends on your exact address, the time of day and the size of your party, so we quote it directly rather than publishing a single figure. Send us your arrival date, flight number, destination and number of guests and you will have a fixed price per vehicle the same day.

Frequently asked

Common questions

How far is Monterrey airport from San Pedro Garza García?

About 32 km, roughly 30 to 40 minutes in normal traffic. Downtown Monterrey is about 30 minutes away. Allow more time on weekdays between 6 and 9 am and between 5 and 9 pm.

Which terminal will I arrive at in Monterrey?

Terminal A handles Volaris, American, United and part of Viva Aerobus, Terminal B handles Aeroméxico and Delta, and Terminal C handles the rest of Viva Aerobus. Check your boarding pass. We track your flight number and meet you in the arrivals hall of the right terminal.

Can Uber pick me up at Monterrey airport?

App pickups at MTY are limited to a designated area away from the terminal doors, and the rules changed several times in 2026. Airport taxis sell zone fares at kiosks in arrivals. A pre-booked private transfer is the simplest option: your chauffeur meets you inside with a name sign and the price is fixed in advance.

How much is a taxi from Monterrey airport?

Authorized airport taxis are concessions that charge fixed zone fares, paid at a kiosk in arrivals; the price depends on your zone and the vehicle. A private transfer works differently: one fixed price for the whole vehicle, agreed before you fly, with your chauffeur waiting inside with a name sign.

Do you offer a black car service at Monterrey airport?

Yes. Our Luxury tier is a Chevrolet Suburban or Mercedes V-Class with a professional chauffeur, and Premium is a Mercedes Sprinter for groups of up to 16. Book a one-way airport transfer or keep the car and driver by the hour.

What does a private transfer in Monterrey cost?

Pricing depends on your address, party size and vehicle tier, so we quote each request individually. Send your flight details and destination through WhatsApp or the booking form and we confirm a fixed price per vehicle.

Can I hire a driver by the hour for plant visits or meetings?

Yes. Our on demand service keeps the same chauffeur and vehicle with you by the hour or for the full day, waiting between stops. It suits plant visits in Apodaca, Escobedo or Santa Catarina, meetings in San Pedro and trade shows at Cintermex.

Do you drive from Monterrey to Saltillo or Santiago?

Yes. Saltillo is about 1 hour 20 minutes from the airport by toll road, and Santiago with the Cola de Caballo waterfall is about 50 minutes south of downtown. Book one way or keep the vehicle for the day.

How long will my chauffeur wait for me?

Up to 60 minutes after your flight lands, at no charge. We track your flight, so if it is delayed the pickup time moves with it.

How will I know who is picking me up?

Before pickup you receive a tracking link with your chauffeur’s photo, the vehicle’s license plate and its live location, so you know exactly who and what to look for.
